So....I haven't blogged since late October. I don't really have a good excuse. When I had a chance to blog, I was knitting instead. My children will have warm, hand knitted hats this winter! Since I last posted:
We went to the pumpkin patch
Elmo came too!
We went trick or treating with a ninja, Elmo and a baby money
Kalven J had a school performance that included kazoos
Reid turned two (more on this later)
Reid got his first real haircut
We put up our Christmas tree
And made Christmas cookies
This is just how they turn out at our house. Poor gingerbread man!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. We are certainly enjoying ours so far!
The big boys rode this little train at the city market (Reid bailed as soon as it started moving because he didn't want to lose sight of me)
Levi smiled a lot. He loves to laugh and shriek.
Kalven J lost the second of his top front teeth. His tooth was so loose that it was hanging sideways. He's crying in this picture because I took it right after Kalven pulled his tooth. Kalven J put up quite a fight.
To end our week, Kalven and I got to go on a date. We bowled a couple games at Pin Up Bowl and headed to Yard House for a snack before we came home. We didn't take any pictures of us, but I did take a picture of my happy hour appetizer.
Happy crab cakes! Not only was it wonderful for Kalven and I to have a couple hours alone, Kalven J got to have popcorn and a movie with his Aunt Kati while we were out. He'd been begging to hang out with her for a while now, so he was thrilled to get to curl up on the couch and share a bowl of popcorn and his favorite movie with her.
Kalven is in major get it done mode on our kitchen remodel, so last night we opted to eat at Jazz rather than brave the dusty construction mess that is currently our kitchen. Kalven J and Reid have both had crawfish before, but I always order it in etoufee because there's no way I'm picking those bugs apart. Lucky for Kalven J, William is visiting and ordered a couple pounds of boiled crawfish, so he got to try his hand at getting the meat out of them.
I thought it would be fun to see what Reid thought of them.
And it looks like maybe Levi would like a little taste.
